Hatchery
Planning Company was founded as Southern Meter and Transformer
Company in the early 1950's by brothers
Bob and Ralph Allen. Southern Meter and Transformer supplied reconditioned
standby power systems to all types of poultry operations throughout
the southeastern United States, from small farms to hatcheries
and processing plants. Bob and Ralph where most interested in hatcheries
and recognized the need for improved ventilation in these facilities.
Soon thereafter, they reformed as HATCHERY PLANNING COMPANY and
began to specialize in hatchery design and ventilation. The poultry
industry, still in its infancy, would be changed forever.
Until this time, hatcherymen had given little, if any, thought to the design
and ventilation of their facilities. HATCHERY PLANNING COMPANY began experiments
in the field and through trial and error, and hard work, developed superior formulas
and designs, many of which are still in use today. By improving ventilation and
layout, HATCHERY PLANNING COMPANY increased productivity and lowered mortality
in hatcheries throughout the world. Over the next thirty years, the brothers
enlisted a highly experienced team of engineers, design consultants, and ventilation
experts. Together, they made HATCHERY PLANNING COMPANY the most respected name
in hatchery design and ventilation.
Bob and Ralph have since passed away, but their family and associates have continued
their work in the hatchery design and ventilation field. Today, HATCHERY PLANNING
COMPANY retains the most experienced design/ventilation staff available anywhere
and offers the highest quality services and products to the largest poultry producers
in the world. We remain, as we have for over forty-five years, the best choice
for your hatchery design and ventilation needs.
